Packing List

 

Participants should pack personal items in a five gallon plastic bucket with a lid and their name written on it.  They will carry these buckets in their handcarts. Additionally, participants should bring a warm sleeping bag, a pad, and a pillow. These bedrolls should be put in waterpr
oof bags - for example, a garbage sack.



Everything except what your are wearing and your bedroll should be in your 5 gallon bucket with lid.

  • Sack lunch for Thursday
  • Walking shoes/boots:  (don't buy new ones without breaking in - they will give you blisters.)
  • Metal plate, bowl, cup, and utensils
  • Pocketknife
  • Small Flashlight w/ extra batteries
  • Mosquito & tic repellant 
  • Sunscreen
  • Lip balm
  • Trek handbook/journal
  • Pen or pencil
  • Scriptures
  • Extra socks
  • Long Johns, or other warm underclothing
  • Underclothing for 3 days
  • Warm sleeping bag, pad and pillow in protected plastic bag
  • Toiletries including hand sanitizer
  • Rain jacket or poncho

Women's clothing:
  • Bonnet
  • Apron
  • 3/4 length skirt or dress
  • Long sleeve blouse or dress
  • Shawls and or jackets

Men's clothing:
  • Hat (pioneer style, no beaked ball caps)
  • Neckerchief
  • Long pants
  • Long sleeve shirt
  • Jackets

Prior to leaving Thursday morning at respective church buildings, supplies will be inspected.


All contraband will be confiscated and returned following the trek. No one will be allowed to bring snacks, jerky, candy or other food items.  For safety reasons, absolutely no food, snacks, or beverages except water will be allowed in camp, not even leftovers from meals.

No radios, walkmans, gameboys, cell phones, or other electronic devices will be allowed. Cameras will to be necessary for the youth because photographers will work with each family taking pictures that will be available for everyone.
