Ma and Pa Equipment List

Ma & Pa Family Equipment Needs




Each ma and pa couple should bring the same personal items listed on the previous page. They should also gather the camping equipment listed below.







The Bishopric should help obtain any items that they cannot easily procure. Ma and pa couples should not incur any expenses to complete this list. Contact the ward chairperson
with questions.


  • 3 5-6 Person Tents - 1/ ma and pa, 1/ brothers, 1/ sisters
  • 1 Table - For preparing food, etc.
  • 1 Dining Fly - With lines and stakes, also extra rope
  • 1 Lantern - Also extra battery, fuel
  • 1 Camp Stove - Propane type with tank (two burner)
  • 2 Dutch Ovens - At least 12” diameter w/pliers, hot pads, leather gloves, shovel
  • 1 Skillet or Griddle - Skillet should be at least 12” or larger
  • 1 5gal Water Cooler - Insulated type with tap at bottom. Note: This one needs to be filled and carried on handcart.
  • 2 Pots - Large, for heating water, cooking
  • 2 Dish Pans - For washing and rinsing dishes
  • 1 Dishsoap&Bleach - For washing and rinsing
  • 1 Set washing supplies - Hand Soap w/towels, hand sanitizer, for family use near water container
  • 1 First Aid Kit - Lots of band-aids and mole skin / put with water on cart
  • 1 5 Gal. Water Jug Empty for hand washing and dishes at camp
  • Dish Rags & Towels, Scouring Pads
  • Matches (strike anywhere type)
  • Hot Pads
  • 2 Plastic Serving/Cooking Bowls
  • Table Cloth
  • Butcher & Paring Knives
  • Water Pitcher
  • Tongs or Large Fork for scones
  • Can Opener
  • Hatchet or Ax
  • 2 Metal Spatulas
  • Flashlight
  • 2 Plastic Spatulas,
  • Shovel
  • 2 Serving Spoons
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Rolling Pin
  • Extra Tarps
Clearly mark all items. When the trek is over, promptly return each borrowed item to the owners in the same condition it was prior to the trek.

Please work with Bishoprics regarding the repair or replacement of any damaged camping equipment.

Trek staff, activity specialists, and visiting bishops should also dress in pioneer clothing (e.g. dresses, aprons, bonnets, etc.) and should not bring prohibited food or electronic devices.

They may drive directly to the campsite. They should bring their own sleeping bags and sleeping accommodations such as tents. If desired, they may drive recreational vehicles to the campsite and park in a designated area.
